What is the purpose of this site?

To create a community surrounded by a central database containing information on manga. Including how to obtain it.

Why?

Over the years manga has become more popular throughout the rest of the world. Every country has their own comic books, but something about manga just grabs a hold of you. Someone might have introduced you to manga and you fell in love but the main question today is what else is out there? A lot of people know manga as those Japanese books found in the local book store. That's ok for some people but what if you want more? Where do you find more? Who sells what? And most importantly, what's new in Japan and what can you look forward to in the future?

What do I plan on achieving with this site?

I would like to be able to search for titles of manga and read descriptions, what genre they are under and possibly read a review to better understand the series. I want to be able to vote and see the overall score of a title because its nice to see what other people think. Are you the only one that finds a series good or are you amongst the many that really enjoy the series. Has a series or book won any awards? Who created the series? What other titles did he/she create? How long is the series or is it still in production? Who is translating this series? Where can I buy these books or where can I download the fansub.
These are just a few of what I plan on accomplishing with this site.
